Jean-Michel Jarre did a European tour in 2010, playing in large concert halls in many countries including United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Holland, Poland, Hungary, and France.
When I found out he was going to play in Liège (Belgium), only one hour away from home, I proposed him to come and take pictures "just as in the good old days" - which he accepted! More below...

The Liège concert took place on the 28th of March 2010 in the Country Hall, a concert hall holding over 7000 people which was packed with people. Both the rehearsal and the concert were being filmed in 3D, with cameras moving all around. So I couldn't shoot the rehersal or shoot from just in front of the stage. Therefore I shot most of my concert picture from a staircase on the balcony, about 100m away from the stage.
This concert was fabulous. Of course, no giant fireworks cracked on top of skyscrapers,
but
state-of-the-art projections and laser-show made up for it. And Jean-Michel Jarre's music was,
as usual, superb: a mix of classics, slightly revisited, and several tunes that were new to me.
I shot these photos of Jean-Michel Jarre's 2010 concert in Liège
using a Nikon D200 with a 80-400mm Nikkor lens at 1600 ASA max,
and a Nikon D300 with a 18-200mm Nikkor lens at 3200 ASA max.
Both cameras were set on Velbon Victory 150 tripods.
